A Moroccan Inspired Abode
Before we get completely swept away by the gorgeous details of fashion designer Heidi Merrick’s LA home, let us pause a moment and pay respect to that giant arched window and French doors. Divine!
Heidi is the daughter of legendary surfboard designer Al Merrick of Channel Islands Surfboards. Her surfing world upbringing is reflected in Heidi’s global fashion line as well as throughout her light, breezy, chic and laidback home. The Moroccan inspired abode (which we discovered on The Glitter Guide a few years ago and just had to feature again) resembles a Mediterranean hideaway, featuring lush interiors and beautiful gardens. The home brims with eclectic and modern pieces from all over the world and exudes a relaxed ambience thanks to Heidi’s clever juxtaposition of new pieces with old, formal with relaxed. The home is bright and airy with beautiful pops of colour, greenery and natural light throughout.
WE LOVE:
- The overall relaxed, Moroccan, laid-back vibe
- Giant arched window in the living room
- Use of bougainvillea and banana leaf in the house
- Eclectic pieces in the living room which bring the Moroccan/Spanish room to life
- Crisp hallway featuring beautiful linen cupboards
- Statement piece pendant lights in the hallway
- Gorgeous bathroom which allows you to look out to the tropical garden
- Bathroom pendants are too die for
- The blue Ikea Bed in the guest room styled with a beautiful canopy
- Tropical Backyard with giant banana leaf trees and bright bougainvillea
