Villa Marie Saint Barth
A behind-the-scenes look at hotelier-decorator Jocelyne Sibuet’s colonial plantation style hotel in St Barts…
Overlooking the spectacular Flamands Beach, in the hills above Colombier, Villa Marie Saint Barth is something of a bohemian fantasyland. With hints of colonial influence and eclectic pieces from around the globe, it is one of those destinations where the feeling of romance and quality of life are matched only by the beautiful setting of the unspoilt countryside…
French hotelier and interior designer Jocelyne Sibuet spent years collecting items that would eventually decorate her St. Barths retreat and her vision can be seen in just about every inch of the property. There are antique chests from Jaipur, drapes from Pakistan, rattan lamp shades from Tunisia, a wooden pineapple-shaped table from Indonesia, and so much more. What might sound like a hodgepodge in theory is actually quite the opposite – the pieces all work in such harmony, it’s as if they were destined to coexist in the same space.
