Bert’s is a light-filled bar and brasserie overlooking Pittwater and the grounds of The Newport. A bar and brasserie reminiscent of the grand hotel dining rooms of the 1930s, with the relaxed air of Sydney’s northern beaches.
Curated by Merivale’s design team of owner Justin Hemmes, his sister Bettina Hemmes, Akin Creative’s Kelvin Ho and stylist Amanda Talbot, it’s one of those spaces that completely turns the definition of pub on its head. Think pops of pink, cactus gardens, rattan and cane chairs, upholstered bentwood chairs, custom green onyx counter at the champagne bar and plenty of marble. Oh and we can’t forget the views over Newport.
